Laser Treatment
Urbium YAG Fractitional Laser Treatment
Preparation prior to treatment:
- Treatment of suntanned skin should be postponed;
- If you suffer from cold sores it is imperative that you inform your surgeon;
- Treatment is contra-indicated in patients taking photo-sensitising medication;
- Thoroughly remove all creams and cosmetics;
- Anaesthetic is not required in most cases.
Post treatment care in hospital:

Cooling of the skin with ice packs or a fan can attenuate the mild burning sensation;

Antibacterial cream such as Polyfax, may be applied.
Post treatment care at home:

Mineral water sprays can be used for the first day;

Continue to apply a layer of Polyfax;

Avoid vigorous washing with tap water for 24 hours, scrubbing should certainly be avoided;

Make-up can be applied after 3 days;

Redness is expected to last for between 2 - 7 days;

Use a high factor sun protection cream (factor 50 if possible), for up to 6 weeks;
